Dear Lord,
I am really struggling lately. I have all these hopes and dreams but when I look at my reality, I don’t see how they are possible. Help me to rely on you for the how’s and the why’s and I need some direction.
You placed these hopes and dreams in my heart for a reason. They seem like a distant possibility. For example, I am obsessed with the dream of owning my own business. I have several ideas I could run with like a retail greenhouse/nursery. I am confident I could pull it off but then the fear and doubt rushes in. They do not “creep” in like some might say. The fear and doubt rushes in like crazed warriors ready to kill for their cause.
I just pictured David and Goliath at their standoff, right before David takes down Goliath. At first, it seems obvious that tiny David is obviously going to die. However, David has such great faith in You. He relied on You 100% because he had to. There was no other way he could defeat Goliath on his own.
Launching my own business is my Goliath. I want to conquer it but it is towering over me shouting obscenities at me while I cower and cry. Lord, grant me the strength to stand up and take one step foreword and then another and then another. Send me your Angels to show me the how’s and the why’s. I promise to move forward at your signal.

This prayer came to me when I put my pen to the paper. I struggle with doubt, fear, and insecurities every single day. I want to tell you that our Lord would never place those doubts in your heart. NEVER. Those thoughts and feelings are from the devil. The devil wants you to be small and insignificant, to doubt yourself and to die with regrets. Well, to hell with the devil! I have been dreaming of owning my own business for my whole life. That dream would not persist if it wasn’t meant to be. That is God’s gentle way of saying, “Com’on Jessica. You can do it. Don’t give up now. This is what I want for you. Go get it!”
So please, if you are in the same boat as me – fighting for a dream that you have doubts about – don’t ignore those dreams. They are there for a reason. God planted them in your heart when He created you. Do something today to get one step closer to making your dream a reality. Even if it is small like writing it down on paper or writing a prayer to God. Tell him how you feel. He already knows how you feel but he wants you to acknowledge them so you can move past it. Get out there and do it!
