In search of the truth

Our society is so full of empty promises. We are all scrounging for something to fill this void in our lives. We all have this void. All off us are on a journey whether we know it or not. Many people get lost along the way. Too many. Why? Because sin is woven through-out the world. It is a lot easier to fall into the trap. That illusion of truth that comes from the devil. The master of disguise that will take something destructive and make it look like the truth. These various illusions are sprinkled all over our society like confetti. It is no wonder so many people pick up these illusions.

Do you know what confetti really is? Little pieces of trash. All together confetti looks beautiful and colorful – you just want to reach out and catch it as it is falling from the sky. But when you stop to really look at the confetti- it’s just a little piece of tissue paper. Trash. You can see right through it. But there is only one truth and that is God’s truth. Not a million individual truths. It’s not your truth or my truth or his truth or her truth. There can only be one truth. And that is from our Creator. The one who created us and placed that truth within our hearts. It is the very truth that we are desperately searching for.

Clean up time

You know what I do when I’m looking for something? It’s usually my cell phone – drives my husband crazy. “Have you seen my cell phone?” seems to make up 50% of our conversations! I start cleaning. I start picking stuff up, putting it away, throwing away trash, take the recycling out, straightening the couch cushions, propping up the pillows, and folding the blankets. The house looks great and lo and behold my cell phone was right where I left it. It was there all along but I needed to clear out the clutter in my life so I could see clearly again. Eliminate the clutter in your life and God will be there where He always was and is and will be. Don’t stop looking for the truth because eventually you will find it.

“I am the way and the truth* and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

John 14:6
